Take Three Thursday

If an effort to notice more in my life, I have decided to share what I have noticed this week in Take Three Thursday.  The idea is to take 3 photos  of what caught your eye this week & that are linked some how; by theme, by colour, by date, by moment,  by points of view. There is no formal link in but please feel free to join in.  What three have you noticed this week?

This week my three come from a bit of cupboard cleaning & rearranging.  I have several favourite tea mugs/cups amongst the far too many mugs. It's funny but I do not like to share use with some of my favourite mugs.  Do you have a favourite mug & only you can use?   I once did a scrapbook layout about the mugs friends have given me.  These 3 favourites are linked by colour, pink.

  1. Yes, I tend to have my mugs and husband has his. For coffee first thing in the morning, it needs to be nice and big, however. -Jenn

    1. I was surprised when I was tidying the cupboard just how many were put into the "don't share" side (lol). Mr Man has 3 favourites & two of those are the same.

  2. We use only insulated mugs in the morning that keep our coffee warm while we read. They aren't anywhere as lovely as yours, but they're functional--and most were purchased on our travels so they come with memories of a specific place. Right now I'm drinking from a bright red one we bought at the Field Museum in September.

    1. What a great idea to have insulated mugs for at home - I have one that I never thought to use because I hate when my tea gets cold. Yes today on this winter return day we definitely need something bright & cheerful & your red one sounds perfect.

  3. I think that cup and saucer might just win. I have a mug which I have had since before I was married so you are talking a good 20 plus years. It's blue and white and depicts a kitten playing. I bought it at a National Trust house in Dorset called Kingston Lacey and it is based on a service they have on a dresser in the kitchens. I in fact also have a plate but that has always lived on the wall.
I'm also a bit of a fuss pot about mugs. I like tea in bone china and coffee in ceramic! I will compromise if a lot of the mugs are in the dishwasher.
I bet you are beginning to wish that you never asked!
I was just wondering. I do like to visit other people who are taking part in a meme. We had quite a little group of us on Wednesdays for snap. How would you feel about giving the names the following week or asking people to leave a link in your comments?
    Just a thought.

    1. I think those are great ideas, I will give it a go with adding names. 20+ for a mug, ah the cups of tea it has known, what tales it could tell!

  4. Me too, I like the cup and saucer, though I rarely use them. I prefer mugs (TBH I have far too many) and I have a few faves which I won't put in the dishwasher - but I have no probs if others drink from them.

    1. There is something rather comfortable about a mug of tea. All mine are dishwasher safe but I find with the tea they still need a scrub.

    1. Sandra I am glad I could help with a smile today. I have no idea how ALL those mugs ended up in my cupboard, I really don't recall buying many of them.

    1. I truly have no idea where my Thursday meme is going, it may develop a life of its own or it may waste away but for now it has me out & looking.

  7. I read a serious scientific study once that said we get so used to using our favourites that a change can cause distressing reactions in the brain.

    1. I like science & I am really interested in science around behaviour & the brain. On purpose now I am using other mugs, pushing myself outside of that comfort excuse of routine.

  8. They all share a very delicate and pretty look ... I am a fan of bone china for tea, and as I'm not a great coffee drinker, I don't mind how it arrives (apart from plastic). I like your idea of noticing more in one's life :).
